Isn't this against the law?

They robbed the GIRL SCOUTS?

Thanks to Dad Anderson for pointing this news story out...

A pair of 17-year-old, apparently affluent teen girls stole $166 from a girl scout who was out selling cookies. When confronted on-camera, one girl said, "we went through all that trouble to get it [the money] and now we have to give it back -- I'm pissed." The other girl said, "I'm not sorry we did it. I'm sorry we got caught."

What kind of society do we live in where rich teens steal from 9-year-old Girl Scouts, and later act as if they were entitled to the money in the first place? The two teens need to be taught one helluva lesson, but I'm sure Daddy will pay their way out of trouble. If I understood the video correctly, the girls did NOT get arrested. That baffles me. They stole $160+ from a Girl Scout and were not punished. Try walking into a bank and grabbing $160 and walking out -- see what kind of trouble you get into.

They need to take responsibility for their actions. It's the only way these teens will learn how to be adults. The Girl Scouts are much more mature than the crooks. If their parents won't teach them responsibility, shouldn't we? Isn't that what juvenile court is for?

Grrr.

You want a hundred and sixty bucks? Go work for three days like the rest of us.

It's sad but maybe the Girl Scouts should start carrying pepper spray..or glocks...

The lack of discipline in our schools and at home is the root of these types of problems. Teachers can't spank a child, parents are recommended to use "time-out" as a punishment...BULL! A good swat on the butt never hurt anyone. If the U.S. handled things like other countries, we would not have children behaving this way. In Taiwan they publicly flogged the butt of the American kid who painted grafitti on a wall. People in the U.S, were outraged, Taiwan doesn't have a grafitti problem. Nuff said.

This isn't 'real' footage, right? You're "punking" us, right?

RIGHT????

This has to be hoax. There is NO WAY those "teenaged girls" got off scott free.

Please tell me this isn't real.

Please.

Please?

See, it's things like this that make me get all violent inside. I'd like to knock those two girls' heads together then make THEM sell damn cookies for a week. If the parents won't do something about this there really is no hope. Their precious little snowflakes are always in the right. Grrr. I cannot believe they weren't charged with a crime, but as you said, daddy probably has some influence, or his wallet does.

How very sad :(

I blame the Girl Scouts for making the Samoas more delicious than crack. I would rob just to get more of them.

I can only hope the young Girl Scouts do not grow up to be like those confused girls.

Not everyone has people around them that know how to teach kids accountability and respect...and love.

I am so grateful for the family I have - they taught me sooooo much about love and life and values...kept me long on love and short on cash!

(FYI Chris - I would be working mor ethan three days to come up with $160...AmeriCorps*VISTA folks are required to live a life of poverty for their one year!)

I said it on Andersen's blog and I'll say it again: I feel bad for anyone who can do something so stupid and not feel or admit the guilt of it. The lack of shame these girls display reveals the hardness of their hearts, something only the Gospel can possibly penetrate. I'm not sure knocking heads would do it (then again, it might be worth a try anyway).

One way or the other, they have to be held responsible.

As long as the cookies are safe! But really, someone should make the thieves wear the uniform for a year.
