When our local soldiers came home and drove down the street in the welcome home parade, I couldn't help but cry in absolute anger when the car carrying the family of the one that was lost went by. I just kept mumbling "Fuck you, George Bush. Fuck you."

I just don't understand how this stuff can happen in this day and age. How are they suppressing all of this information?

Please watch Frontline more often to get some real news. My teens were saying yesterday that it is the only show they ever hear about real news on. Made me proud they noticed.Leonessehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04910799095745831330noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-14812522.post-18243935270089999152007-10-23T13:02:00.000-05:002007-10-23T13:02:00.000-05:00That must have been pretty touching, the whole thi...That must have been pretty touching, the whole thing. I haven't seen your wall or the DC wall but I've seen the Korean war monument in Battery Park, here in NYC and there are slabs upon slabs of names on that. There's also a World War monument in granite on the ground that's divided into segments for each country, detailing how many people each country lost during the war (I'm ashamed to say I can't remember which world war it was) Quite emotional to look at.

I have a friend out west whose father died in Vietnam. She was born in (I think) 1964 or thereabouts so she was only two or three when her dad died. His name's on the wall in DC and she's been to see it. I can't imagine what goes through the minds of relatives when they look at such things.

I also can't believe how awfully veterans have been treated, in particular after that war and especially after many of the soldiers were drafted against their will. The Guv'nerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17644868081292848220noreply@blogger.com
